Alice Hauck (born in 1990 in Hoyerswerda) and Amelie Plümpe (born in 1993 in Bremen), live and work in Berlin. In 2018, they founded the artists duo HAUCK PLÜMPE. In their art they focus conceptually, sculpturally, and performatively on exploring the interfaces between model and architecture, and with industrial logistics systems and everyday life. HAUCK PLÜMPE have devised a modular system of building blocks with which they interrogatively produce permanently changing spatial installations and sculptures. The results are walk-through architectural references to places of transit, to production, work break, and to what is often invisible labor. The duo research human routines and behavior-based actions within various work structures and professional groups. They stage their observations by means of performative actions and video works, using their spatial installations and sculptures as fictional venues in the process. They view the continual expansion of their collection of sculptures as forming a microcosm and narrative strategy within their overall artistic practice.
