Dominik Běhal – Egress Dominik Běhal’s works deliberately blur the established boundaries between mural painting and hanging painting. Here, the traditional mural technique is removed from its architectural anchorage and transformed into a portable panel. The fresco is thus not determined by its location but becomes a painting. The exhibition title Egress can be partially understood as a key to interpreting the artist’s work. Běhal’s paintings do not operate with a linear narrative. Rather, they must be perceived as a space for expressing various simultaneous events in which individual temporal planes intertwine and layer upon one another. The starting point is drawings, which the artist further develops through the process of painting.
